Kathleen Law is on our side
The Issues

As state representative for Downriver and Southwestern Wayne County, I have:

  • Worked with the business community to protect our jobs, safeguard our pensions, and improve our economy,
  • Supported initiatives against big drug companies to reduce the cost of health care and prescription drugs, and
  • Stood up to the waste industry and forced Lansing to take action on the historic anti-trash legislation.

My work locally, has focused on serving the people I represent with any concerns they may have. I have been holding townhall meetings on the key issues affecting our area including: jobs and the economy, Canadian trash, changes to Medicare and the cost of prescription drugs. I have also been fighting the proposed Countywide Landfill expansion in Gibraltar, the proposed Riverview Trenton Railroad, and the import of Canadian trash to Sumpter Township.

My work in Lansing has focused on how to best help our area's working families. I have sponsored legislation that would tackle the outsourcing of Michigan's jobs and to create good-paying jobs in Michigan. I have voted to protect our pensions and to extend unemployment benefits. Further, I have voted to support our area schools and supported initiatives to reduce prescription drug costs. I have also sponsored legislation to prevent gas gouging, decrease water pollution, and fight the Emerald Ash Borer.
